Social and political activities of V. K. Tlostanova

Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of individual problems of the sociopolitical activity of Vladimir Kalimetovich Tlostanov, one of the most famous rectors of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University. He made a great contribution to the development of the education and science system of Kabardino-Balkaria. But at the same time, V. K. Tlostanov at different stages of the history of the USSR and post- Soviet Kabardino-Balkaria held various positions in the party, political and state hierarchy. Selfless service to the people of Kabardino-Balkaria, wisdom and charisma of V. K. Tlostanov gained him great authority and wide popularity not only among the intelligentsia, but other different layers of the public. Studying the socio-political activities of V. K. Tlostanov is undoubtedly the most important factor and condition for the historical reconstruction of Kabardino-Balkaria in modern times.
