A woman in the Adyghe picture of the world – the optics of
proverbs and sayings

The article examines the ethnocultural specificity of the representation of women in the cultural system through the prism of the Adyghe paremiology. The potential of proverbs and sayings as reliable sources projecting value priorities in the linguistic picture of the world is noted. The author emphasizes the significant place of women in the Adyghe society and Adyghe culture, her status priorities, and the peculiarities of relationships with men. The rooting of the principles of equal dignity of men and women in the Adyghe social system is demonstrated; the special role of women in the family and cultural and communicative relation.
