Problems of land zoning and agricultural land use in the Republic of Abkhazia

Abstract. The paper presents an analysis of the current principle of land zoning in the Republic of Abkhazia and in the Russian Federation. The characteristics of the project to replace land categories with land zones and the possibilities of implementing this project in regulating agricultural and non-agricultural land use are given. The analysis of the structure of agricultural and non-agricultural land in the context of the country’s regions is carried out. The advantages of forming the land cadastre of the republic and territorial planning documents of the country as a whole, districts and settlements based on the use of territorial zones instead of land categories are substantiated.
