in wastewater treatment processes

Abstract. An urgent problem of our time is the protection of the environment from pollution. In this regard, the problem of wastewater treatment is of particular importance, since it is closely related to the protection of water resources. Most methods of natural and industrial wastewater treatment, as well as methods of compaction and dewatering of various types of precipitation, are based on the use of reagents. Water-soluble polyelectrolytes are used in various processes as coagulants, flocculants for the purification of drinking water, domestic and industrial wastewater, in hydrometallurgy, non-ferrous metals and rare metals. Water-soluble polyelectrolytes based on aminoalkyl ethers of methacrylic acid grades VA-102 and VA-212 have been approved by the commission of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for use in drinking water purification processes. In this work, N-vinyl-3/5/-methylpyrazole, which has good complexing properties, was selected as a comonomer for the production of water-soluble polyelectrolytes based on aminoalkyl esters of methacrylic acid. Its practical use turned out to be possible due to the developed, economically feasible method of obtaining it.
