Abstract. Natural water is one of the objects of the study of hydrology. Water in nature does not occur in its pure form, since it always contains a certain amount of impurities that it comes into contact with during its circulation. It forms a complex physical and geographical system, where there are many dissolved components from gases to individual organic ingredients. The study of the gas regime of the republic’s reservoirs is of no small importance in determining the possibility of aquaculture production in the reservoirs located on the territory of the CBD. Therefore, this work is devoted to determining the proportion of oxygen in the vital activity of organisms inhabiting these systems, the characteristics of the gas regime and its role in the oxygen balance. It is noted that an important indicator in assessing the quality of dispersed systems is its active reaction – the concentration of free hydrogen ions, the pH value. Neutral pH values are considered favorable for maintaining the life of organisms inhabiting water basins.

Keywords: active reaction of the environment, pH, acidity, aquatic ecosystem, hydroecology, aquaculture, PMO, COD.
