History and periodization of the creation of protected areas in Kabardino-Balkaria and their role in the conservation of biological diversity

The article discusses the history and periodization of the creation of a network of specially protected natural areas (SPNA) of Kabardino-Balkaria and its role in maintaining biological diversity, as well as the role of SPNA in protecting rare and endangered plants. A retrospective analysis of the creation of protected areas of the CBD was carried out, as a result of which a number of interesting archival documents were first put into scientific circulation.
